He Makes Beauty from Ashes

Maybe you’ve been through the fire.

Maybe your heart is weary from the grief you carry, the prayers that haven’t been answered, or the healing that feels like it’s taking forever.

You’re trying to hold it together, but inside—you feel like you’re holding nothing but ashes.

The pieces of a dream that died.
The weight of a loss that words can't reach.
The sting of disappointment, month after month, year after year.

You wonder if God still sees you.
If He hears you.
If any of this brokenness can ever be rebuilt into something beautiful.

Friend, I want to remind you today: He hasn't left you. He hasn’t forgotten you. He is right there—in the ashes—with you.

  • Job lost everything—his children, his health, his wealth—yet he never cursed God. Though he questioned, he remained faithful and said, “Though He slay me, yet will I hope in Him” (Job 13:15).

Faith doesn’t mean you don’t grieve—it means you trust even through grief.

  • Hannah longed for a child and was mocked for her barrenness. In deep anguish, she cried out to God—and He answered with a son, Samuel.

God hears the prayers whispered through tears.

  • Noah obeyed God and built an ark—even when it had never rained. His faith saved his family and preserved humanity.

Faith sometimes looks foolish to the world—but it’s obedience that honors God.

  • Betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, and wrongly imprisoned—Joseph still believed God had a plan. He later became a ruler and forgave those who hurt him.

God can use the darkest chapters to write your redemption story.

  • After losing her husband, Ruth left everything to follow Naomi and serve the God of Israel. Her faithfulness led her into the lineage of Jesus.

Even in loss, loyalty and trust in God can lead to divine purpose.

  • Paul was beaten, shipwrecked, and imprisoned for preaching Jesus—yet he wrote, “Rejoice in the Lord always.” His letters became much of the New Testament.

Faith shines brightest when the world goes darkest.

  • Mary followed Jesus even at the cross and was the first to see Him risen. She stayed close—even when it felt like all hope was gone.

Faith stays near—even when the tomb looks sealed.
